Commissioner of Oaths
A Commissioner of Oaths is an official authorized to take oaths or affirmations in legal settings. A Commissioner does not verify or certify the truth of declarations, but rather that oaths have been administered correctly according to the law.
An affidavit is a formal written document. It presents a person’s own account of events. The facts are presented in numbered paragraphs. The content of the affidavit must be factual and the facts are presented based on the maker’s own knowledge.
